Down the Drain. Or, a Clogged Drain?

Sometimes when you discover something that makes you say "ewe", your next thought is just maybe ignorance is bliss. During a past home inspection prior to the purchase of a new home, the inspector told me best plumbing tool is a Zip-It. This is a simple piece of plastic that costs next to nothing--basically a couple bucks. You slide it down the drain and see what comes up. And what comes up can be some major yuck. I've had this tool for a while and finally decided to see if I could pull anything up from my drains. My sinks produced hair, bugs, and sludge. Just when I thought I couldn't be any more grossed out, I moved on to the shower. This is what I got out of that drain. Yes! I know! So disgusting. But now you've gotta do it. Go to your nearest home improvement store and get yourself a Zip-It. Your drains will thank you.
