Use What You've Got

I have to admit, this doesn't always work out. But I was absolutely floored when I discovered that all of my furniture from my previous home actually worked in my new home! I thought for sure I would have to purchase new, or at the very minimum recover some pieces. As you can see, both homes have a different look. Yet, I was able to make all the existing pieces work. So, word of advice, before you immediately run out to buy new, give it a try. What do you have to lose? Other than money? Don't be afraid to move items to other rooms or pair your furniture differently. After all, that's what is part of the fun!

See how I have used my same table & chairs? The overall look of the space is completely different, yet it works in both. And then the 2 gray club chairs were once in my sunroom and are now in my great room. I didn't think the gray color would work in this space, but because of the paint color on the fireplace, the gray actually looks great.

In these pictures you can see how I relocated my cheetah print chair and ottoman to the bedroom. Animal print is so versatile, it can work almost anywhere.
