Without a Doubt, Add a Roll-out
I have to admit, downsizing can be very challenging. Where do I put this? There isn't enough space for that... Talk about decluttering - hello! My home before this one was what I thought would be pretty close to a forever home. Or at least a long-time home. So I put a lot of money into remodeling it and making it all I could hope for. But, as commonly happens, life changes and we are forced to change with it. After the death of my husband, I really didn't have the desire to stay once my daughter accepted a job offer here in Arizona. Naturally I followed her out west. And I decided I wanted a home with not exterior maintenance. So I opted for a villa. While I love my neighborhood, I like my home. There were many changes I was tempted to make but because spent so much on my previous remodel, I decided to tread slowly here until I know its where I want to stay. For now I am making do with what I have. Which isn't bad at all. With that being said, of course there are things I truly miss. Like my walk-in pantry.
How do I go from that to this? Well, I just make do. And of course roll-out shelves make things so much easier. I can find whatever I need with a gliding shelf. And of course I still use my stackables, my lazy susan's and my bins.
And you know what? It works. Admittedly, this could be because its just me, so I don't need to keep a lot of food in my pantry. Or maybe it's because I know how to maximize my use of space. Really though, I have all I need!
