A Statement Piece

While visiting a friend over the Christmas holiday I was entranced by a child's picnic table she had found. It was a bit battered so she had an artist friend paint it. Well, it turned into such a gorgeous piece of furniture, the picnic table that was destined for the outdoors instead become a visual piece of art in her family room. Around this same time, my sister and I were going to jazz up my mom's master bath for a Christmas gift. I knew exactly what we needed to do. My mom had an old chest in the bath that she used to store things in. Her favorite color is royal blue. I wanted to blend in the black and peach/pink that is in her bedding. I contacted Susanna Watson with the Swatsonian and asked her if she could paint the chest with the colors mentioned and add in a favorite bible verse. I thought this would brighten each day as my mom stepped into her bath first thing. As you will see, the final product is GORGEOUS! Such an improvement over that sorry old chest. So don't get rid of a piece needing some TLC, get creative.
