I had the cable guy at my house this past week to fix some issues. I wasn't too happy cuz I've experienced problems with my cable ever since it has been installed in August. And we all know, cable ain't cheap. Anyhow, they were suppose to send out a supervisor since the issues weren't getting resolved. The guy came and as I recounted my tales of woe to him and told him how unhappy I was with their problem resolution, he listened and went to work. After spending a couple hours at my home trying to correct the problem, and as he came in and out, he stopped at one point and said, "Ma'am" (gee, don't we love that word? not!), I've got to tell you, you have such a good vibe going on in here. I feel it each time I walk thru the door".
Isn't that what everyone wants out of their home? Good vibrations. Making guests want to come in, sit for a while, and just relax. You don't have to have a "nice house" or "beautiful home" to get that affect. It's the little things that count. A pleasant entry. Walls in the right color. A touch of the unexpected. Minimal clutter. And seating that invites you to Come. Sit. Relax.
I know you can accomplish that. Look at pictures. Pay attention to hotels. Look at restaurants. Tour open houses. And if all else fails, you can certainly hire a pro like me! Every home can be a castle.
